Freshman Academy
Lorrie Place: Freshmen A-L

Mrs. Place grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Sciences from the University of Tennessee. She went on to complete a Master's in School Counseling at Carson-Newman University. Lorrie has been serving as the Freshman Academy Counselor at Farragut High School since the fall of 2022.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has two energetic boys who keep her busy! As a family, they love attending basketball games, baking (especially sourdough), and spending time outdoors.

Andi Tenry: Freshmen M-Z

Ms. Tenry began counseling at Farragut High in 2012 and now works with freshmen in the Freshman Anchor Academy. She advises the state’s first high school Hope Squad and projectU. Originally from Louisiana, she has lived in Knoxville for over 20 years, earned an Master's Degree in School Counseling from UT, and is married to a Tennessee native. She previously worked at Y-12 and holds degrees from Chipola Junior College, the University of Arkansas–Monticello, and Amberton University. Outside school, she enjoys coaching softball, supporting her son’s cross-country meets, and embroidery.

Rachel Bast
Academy of Agriculture, Construction, & Leadership

Ms. Bast graduated from West High School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s in Counseling, both from the University of Tennessee. A big Vols fan who also loves Duke Blue Devils basketball, she is now in her 17th year as a School Counselor and her 16th year at Farragut High School. Outside of work, she enjoys all things sports, concerts, working out, and traveling.

Julie Raby
Academy of Business

Ms. Raby has served as a school counselor at Farragut High School for six years. She earned her master's degree from Lincoln Memorial University and is passionate about supporting students in their academic and personal growth. Originally born in Ohio and raised in Michigan, Julie is a lifelong lover of beagles, books, and football.

Natalie McMichael
Academy of Health & Human Services

Ms. McMichael is a Knoxville native & Farragut grad with a passion for helping others grow and thrive. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Science in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee. Since 2021, she has been proud to serve the Farragut community, supporting students both academically and personally as they navigate their educational journey. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, exploring new places, and trying out all kinds of food.

Katie King
Academy of STEM & Design

Originally from Oak Ridge, Ms. King earned a degree in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design and later completed a Master’s in School Counseling at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Most of her career has been spent working in high schools, primarily in college counseling, including five years abroad in Beijing and Kyiv. She has been at Farragut High School since the fall of 2019. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, and caring for her 100-year-old home.
